The Lord is Risen! Happy Easter!

My Dear Friends,

It is a great joy that this year we are able to celebrate together as a community the great feast of the Lord’s Resurrection. It has been a long thirteen months since the beginning of the virus that has turned upside down our schedule for Mass. It is so important for us to not only worship our Lord, but to worship him as a community of faith together at the celebration of Mass brings us such spiritual strength. Now is the time for us to rely on that spiritual strength as we continue to navigate our lives around this pandemic and this coronavirus. Today we rejoice in the new life that we receive from our Lord’s resurrection as we commemorate his rising from the tomb. As we enter into this Easter season liturgically, we are given many opportunities to grow in our spiritual life. The graces and blessings that we receive from a sacramental life and a life of prayer are ever increasing. In fact, Easter is so important a feast that we celebrate Easter Sunday for eight days in our liturgy. Every day for the octave is Easter day! For eight days we pray, “This is the day the Lord has made! Let us rejoice and be glad!” It is also a reminder that death is not the end; rather it is a beginning of new life. May you and your families have a most blessed Easter and a growing encounter with the Risen Lord.
